2024-2025 Board of Directors
Jean Levine, President                                                                                                                                                                Jean moved heart and home to Steamboat Springs from New England in 1976 .  After 5-6 years of fun in the bar/restaurant scene, my preceding college degrees in Social Work reminded me a life-style repurpose was in order.  One year leave of absence to Medical Assistant school in Boston lined me back up for 30+ years employed in nursing positions in private practices in Steamboat.  The recent past 10 years working in retail continued to provide strong people-to-people connections.  I met and married my husband, Dave, in 1996.  Routt County community has been generous to us providing a fulfilling, colorful lifestyle.  I currently have the privilege serving back by participating on a diverse and dedicated Board of Directors of RCCOA since 2020.  Future plans include a commitment to “keep the wheels turning.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Chris Myers, President Elect/Treasurer                                                                                                                                          Chris is 72 years old and has a BS degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Geology.  I retired in 2017 after a 40 year career as a geologist in the oil business.  My wife and I first came to Steamboat in 1980 and in 2008 we built a home in Steamboat Pines.  I joined the RCCOA board as treasurer in October of 2023.  Being involved in the RCCOA has proven to be a wonderful opportunity to help people in need and give back to the community.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Janis Petry, Secretary                                                                                                                                                                    Janis became a board member in January 2022. I moved to Steamboat Springs from Corona Del Mar, California in 1975. I worked various service industry jobs until 1982 when I went to work at B & K Distributing as a sales rep. I eventually became the Ordering and Inventory Analyst before retiring in 2015. I then started working part time at the Christie Club as a concierge and front desk representative.  I have not fully retired yet. My husband Richard (Pete, Whale) of 39 years is a retired UPS Driver after 36 years of delivering packages.  He now works seasonally as a shuttle driver at Bear Claw. We enjoy skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. Hiking, golfing, gardening and camping in the summer. Love to travel whenever possible.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Andrea Abrahamson                                                                                                                                                                    Andrea has been a Routt County resident since 1996 and a member of the Oak Creek community since 2003. She enjoys the great outdoors that surrounds us such as hiking, skiing and fishing. This is her first board to serve on and enjoys the camaraderie as well as the opportunity to support an organization that is vital for our older community. Andrea works as an artist and meditation teacher when she is not out exploring with her husband Mitch and dog Katie.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Carol Baily                                                                                                                                                                                    Carol is a 4th generation native of Colorado. Carol has been a tennis professional for most of her 50 years in Steamboat. In 2000 she was an inaugural inductee into Colorado’s Tennis Hall of Fame. In 2007 she was the 11th woman to be inducted into Colorado’s Sports Hall of Fame. After her tennis career Carol taught Aging Well for NWCOHealth, and a Balance and Physical Conditioning class for seniors at CMC.  Now retired Carol enjoys delivering Meals on Wheels, being on the Board of RCCOA, and hiking with her dogs.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Ben Blonder                                                                                                                                                                                      Ben has lived with his wife Lindsey, son Henry, daughter Rilyn and doggie Josie in west Steamboat Springs since 2018. Ben delivered Meals on Wheels for RCCOA for years until joining the board in October 2023. Ben has a passion for helping others and volunteering, and comes from an affordable housing advocacy background for many years in Ft Collins on that city’s affordable housing board. Ben started volunteering with M.O.W. kind of randomly, and ended up loving it. He still delivers meals but now on the board of RCCOA has gotten much more involved with fundraising. Ben’s full time job is Realtor and property manager, which he has been doing since 2005.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Steve Evans                                                                                                                                                                                      The highlight of my youthful years was working on my grandfather’s farm in Iowa and learning work eithic.  The best advise I got at San Gabriel High school was from my coach. He said “don’t  smoke, eat healthy, exercise, and move out of Southern California. The Smog was so bad for your health.”  After attending Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona I used my degree in microbiology to become a serious skier and skied every day for one season. I found employment at T.IC. and completed an apprentice program in carpentry.  My career has been as land lord, construction and ranching but my greatest accomplishment is raising a family.  Through a bit of world travel I saw a need for family style hospitality in Steamboat Springs. After reconstructing the burned Euzoa Church at 5th & Pine we opened up Steamboat Bed & Breakfast.  Sharing our healthy lifestyle and the beauty of Steamboat Springs became my job and passion.

I also found many rewards in helping our community thru the Lyons Club, Routt County Conservation District,  Routt County Agricultural Alliance, Steamboat Ambassadors, & the United Methodists church.  My goal now is to help RCCOA any way I can to make ageing exciting, fun, and healthy here in the Yampa valley.
